TanTowel needs to be applied to CLEAN and DRY skin (meaning free of lotions, creams, and oils). We recommend using TanTowel Moisture Mist or TanTowel On The Glow® moisturizer after using the TanTowel. These have been designed to work with the TanTowel self-tan process and will not inhibit the tan. We recommend that you wait 10 minutes before applying either the TanTowel Moisture Mist, or TanTowel On The Glow® moisturizer. Otherwise, you need to wait 3-4 hours before applying other moisturizers and creams so as not to inhibit the tanning process.
TanTowel is the best self-tanner on the market because of its ease of use, portability, and natural-looking color.

“I rarely write notes to busy executives about their products, but in this case, I had to. I work for a music company based in Nashville and had the opportunity to attend the Grammys this year in New York. I attended a number of wonderful events that were graceful enough to offer “gift bags.”
The TanTowel was in one of these gift bags and, having never heard of a TanTowel, I gave it a try. I am olive skinned and can’t stand to be out in the sun, for many reasons, so I have tried many self-tanning products and this is the FIRST that has done all it said it would do. NO streaking. NO bad smell. NO sticky, goopy feeling and IT LASTS FOR DAYS ! The part that I liked best is that the color didn’t over stain my elbows, ankles and knees! WOW!
Working in entertainment - around stylists, hair & makeup people and tons of musicians/artists - I am able to tell everyone about this product - and will continue to do so. Balter Medical of Norway has developed a hand-held device that detects skin cancer. The device uses a technique called Optical Transfer Diagnosis that measures the difference of light waves being absorbed by blood vessels and suspicious moles.
The device is said to be very accurate as it correctly diagnosed 11 out of 11 malignant melanomas in a clinical study. It won’t be available for 2 years, however, as it is still in the process of development.

The Michigan Legislature passed Bill 4146 yesterday. The bill was drafted to help reduce skin cancer among those who frequent tanning salons. It calls for tougher restrictions and oversight of tanning salons like listing potential health consequences, larger warning signs, and informed consent forms.
The new law also requires onsite parental consent for minors who wish to use tanning beds. Michigan joins the ranks of 25 other states who have at least some form of restriction in place for tanning minors.

TanTowel would like to remind you that just because it is winter (in the Northern Hemisphere), skin cancer does not take a break.
“We see skin cancer all year round,” says Dr. Mary Hurley, president of the Dallas Division of the Dallas-Fort Worth Dermatological Society and North Dallas Dermatology Associates.
Basically, see a dermatologist “for anything that’s new, changing or not healing,” she says.
If you think you may have skin cancer or you notice an unusual-looking mole, have your dermatologist check it out right away.

Any tan (sunless or not) only affects the top couple layers of your skin, which is made up of dead skin cells. These skin cells naturally slough off and your body actually regenerates completely new skin every 35-45 days. Therefore, whether you’ve been laying out in the sun to get your tan or use our fabulous sunless tanning products, your tan will fade over time.
Everyone’s skin naturally exfoliates at different rates, and the more you shower, shave, swim, etc, the faster your tan will fade.
